The New Used Bicycle Buyer

After a few months of preparation and experimentation, our new quote engine and website are ready! The Used Bicycle Buyer (UBB for short) team is pretty excited -- we have been hard at work getting the technology ready for the official "relaunch".

The old incarnation of UBB started the development of trade-in programs for dealers, and we, as the new owners of UBB, want to continue that development -- adding some nifty technology to really speed up and simplify the process.

Let me explain...First we cut one whole shipment out of the process. In the end it is the same to you (the bike shop), but for us it really simplifies operations and takes some cost out of the business. This was something that was necessary to make sure the UBB service could be around for a long time!

Next, we developed a robust online quote engine. When we analyzed the bike that were being traded-in, we saw that most (over 80%) were down the middle factory spec bikes. So instead of having to call-in and wait for a quote, you login to the quote engine, select your bike and the condition rating an presto -- a quote that you can deliver on the spot!

Because we got rid of one shipment (the one to us), we need you guys to take some pictures. I will post more on that this week, but we pay you a $49 fee for taking pictures for us. So far the participating dealers thing this is a pretty good deal! We even made it simple for you to send us the pictures. Once the customer accepts the trade, log back in and upload them right to us!

Enough rambling for now. Look for more tips and details the rest of the week. For now, check out the new UBB website and start getting quotes today!
